I’m Jonathan Damery, a writer and editor living in Minneapolis. My writing focuses on the human environment—the way people see, value, and interact with their surroundings. For four years, I edited Arnoldia, a quarterly magazine exploring the nature of trees, published by the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. During that time, I initiated and led a milestone relaunch of the century-old magazine, now featuring new literary approaches and original artwork.
I hold a master of fine arts in literary nonfiction from the University of Minnesota, where I taught undergraduate courses in creative writing. My work has received awards from the Minnesota State Arts Board and other organizations.
I’m currently at work on longform projects.
